LoRes Messerschmitt Bf109G-6/U4 "Udet II/JG3" for Emil's ETO 9th.USAAF.& 2nd.TAF Campaign

This Bf109G-6/U4 (circa: January 1944) skin is based on an aircraft of "Udet" II/JG3 taking part in the "Defence of the Reich" during the beginning of 1944. In the game, 11/JG3 transferred from Holland to Rotenburg, German and received the new, 30mm Mk108 canon equiped, Bf109G-6/U4 Messerschmitt in preparation of the "Defence of the Reich".

To complete this project, I gave this a dappled Grey-on-Grey camouflage paint scheme Messerschmitt national markings and structural detail attempting to be as accurate as possible. At this time II/JG2 replaced the 'white' painted rudder with the 'Reichsverteidigung' (Reich Defence Bands) applied around the fuselage. The black portion of the Balkenkreuz (black crosses) was removed from the fuselage and top wing surface. The "Udet" insignia is still present on the aircraft but the mysterious Red dot has disappeared....
This skin carriers the (outline only) command insignia "Chevron w/crossed Bar" of the Geschwader Adjutant (fictional)

The aircraft's colour scheme and markings where derived from a coloured aircraft profile plate found in the 1999 Osprey Aircraft of The Aces #29 Publication "Bf109F/G/K Aces of the Western Front" series by John Weal and the French publication Histoire & Collections "Messerscmitt Me109 Volumn2 From 1942 to 1945". All operational reference material came also from these same publications....

The base skin/model was the work of Flying Sheep which was provided in Emil's ETO-TAF Skin Pack. The cockpit looks to be the work of Migge and the GAF Gunsight by PapaRomeo...

Special thanks to Shawn Griffin for his excellent LoRes Batch File Converter Utility...

The download includes all *.tpc, *.3dz and *.pcx files. The latter begin included so you can review how the graphic techniques were done....
To install simple copy all the *.tpc and *.3dz files into your EAW main directory or as required by 'Stab' or 'Skins & More'....
